Síntesis Argumental
Una ficción histórica que, a través de diversos estilos, va narrando la vida del mayor cantor de tango de todos los tiempos.
Esta película está basada en las investigaciones realizadas por la Lic. María Selva Ortiz, el Arq. Nelson Bayardo, El Dr. Payssé González y el investigador argentino Ricardo Ostuni.
Es una producción uruguaya independiente, producida por "Grupo Tango’s Uruguay" , que trasciende fronteras para ilustrar la misteriosa vida del Mago, Carlos Gardel.
Un personaje, enmarcado en un onírico contexto, hace una revisión de su pasado, entre anécdotas, testimonios y documentos, sobre el misterioso y oculto mito rioplatense: "el guachito de Escayola".
Gardel encarnando en un fantasma encerrado en el viejo teatro Solís de la capital montevideana , espera saldar algunos debes, contando su propia historia y así poder viajar con cierta paz hacia lo eterno.
Por intermedio de las anécdotas ficcionadas y la narración del "Viejo Gardel", la trama se convierte en mucho más que un simple anecdotario, se diría que es una reflexión sin culpas de un mito que, antes que nada, es un hombre.
En los orígenes un pueblo chico, tres hermanas y un nacimiento en medio de una nebulosa de mentiras, promiscuidad e intereses políticos.
Una infancia entre idas y vueltas, en la calle, al igual que su juventud, un peregrinar entre boliches y bambalinas de Montevideo, Tacuarembó y Buenos Aires.
Su mundo adulto complejo y lleno de sobresaltos, un duelo, un balazo que recibe y lo lleva a refugiarse en el Tacuarembó de su infancia, un impactante encuentro con su padre, una extraña relación que lo lleva a Hollywood, las carreras de caballos, el mundial del ’30 y la trágica muerte empañada por un juego de intereses y mentiras.

Story Briefing
Traducción al españolA historical fiction tells the life of the most famous Tango singer of the century, resorting to different styles.
This film is based on research work undertaken by Lic. María Selva Ortiz, Arqh. Nelson Bayardo, Dr. Payssé González and the argentine investigator Ricardo Ostuni.
It is an independent Uruguayan film, produced by "Grupo Tango’s Uruguay" to show beyond our frontiers the mysterious life of Carlos Gardel, known as the Mago (magician). He is a character famed in a dream context. There is a revision of his past, with anecdotes, testimonies and documents regarding the mysterious and hidden myth of this country regarding the "foundling of Escayola".
Gardel, as a ghost, hidden in the old Montevideo Solís Theatre, hopes to settle some accounts telling his own story, and so ba able to finally rest in peace.
By means of the anecdotes transformed into fiction, and the story told by "Old Gardel" the plot is transformed into something bigger than simple anecdotes. It is a meditation without guilt, about a myth who is primarily a man.
First there is an old town, 3 sisters and a birth shrouded by files, promiscuity and political interests. A childhood of the streets, as well as his youth, in the theaterworld and saloons of Montevideo, Tacuarembó and Buenos Aires.
His complex adult life, a duel where he is shot and thus seeks refuge in the Tacuarembó of his childhood. There he has a shocking meeting with his father. A strange relation brings him to Holliwood, the horse races, the football championship of 1930 and his tragic death obscured by clashing interests and lies.
The film indicates clearly the Uruguayan origin of Carlos Gardel, ascertaining at the same time that his personality was formed in Buenos Aires, where he fulfuilled his wonderful work.

He's not a man of action, but someone decided to face Danny Fusco and his gang, who are heading to Punta del Este to perform an important drug transaction.
Valentín Trejos has only his determination, his dog and his talent to face six dangerous men and an enigmatic woman.

Una triste cuenta por saldar lleva al ingeniero Valentín Trejos, escritor y navegante solitario (Juan Manuel Tenuta) a cruzar el Atlántico en su pequeño velero.
No es un hombre de acción, sino alguien decidido a enfrentar a Danny Fusco y su banda, que se dirige a Punta del Este para realizar una importante transacción de drogas.
Valentín Trejos cuenta con su determinación , su perro y su talento para enfrentar a seis peligrosos hombres y una enigmática mujer.
En un error de su milimétrico plan de venganza, está la invisible línea entre la vida y la muerte y ese error está cerca.

SINTESIS ARGUMENTAL
Las ansias de venganza llevan al ingeniero Valentín Trejos (Juan Manuel Tenuta) a atravesar el Atlántico en un pequeño velero con el fin de interponerse en los planes de Danny Fusco (Osvaldo Laport), un delincuente internacional que viaja de Madrid a Punta del Este con la finalidad de realizar una transacción de droga.
Antes de la partida, Danny Fusco llama por celular desde el aeropuerto de Barajas a su amante, la bella Christine (Elizabeth Bradley), para asegurarse que todo esté en orden en Punta del Este. Ciudad donde lo asecha Trejos.
La voz de la mujer denota ansiedad por verlo, a lo que Danny contesta con ambigüedad, ocultándole que en ese mismo momento está embarcando hacia la ciudad, donde ella y sus cómplices, esperan para realizar el golpe previsto.
En realidad Christine está, en ese mismo momento, atada a una cama y con la boca tapada por una cinta adhesiva. A los pies de la cama, Nora, la perra de Trejos, en actitud amenazante vigila la puerta del dormitorio.
Más allá la voz del protagonista del historia Valentín Trejos continúa la conversación que oyéramos en el aeropuerto de Barajas, simulando la voz de la chica.
En la sala Trejos utiliza un notebook para operar un programa simulador de voz que en esa oportunidad imita la voz de Christine, y así hacer creer a Danny Fusco, que en Punta del Este está todo tranquilo y siguiendo su curso.
Más adelante falseará las voces de los diferentes miembros de la banda, creando confusión y desconfianza entre ellos.
Fusco y tres miembros de su banda suben al avión, sin sospechar que al final del viaje un hombre los espera para saldar una vieja cuenta. Ese hombre, Trejos les da la posibilidad de defenderse.
En el aeropuerto de embarque, en Barajas, alguien entrega a uno de sus acompañantes un sobre con un mazo de hojas que sería recogido en el aeropuerto de llegada en Uruguay.
Durante el vuelo, Tristán La Motte (Diego Delgrossi), un intelectual , -lugarteniente de Danny- que se encarga de las falsificaciones y los trabajos de informática de la banda, comienza a notar que esas hojas son la prueba de imprenta de una crónica, de coincidencias asombrosas con los planes de Danny Fusco y su banda.
La novela que Tristán La Motte lee en el vuelo Barajas - Punta del Este, no es ni más ni menos que la historia del golpe que piensan cometer.
El esfuerzo por interpretar el contenido de esas hojas, cuyos personajes tienen nombres muy similares a los propios, y su lucha por convencer a Danny Fusco, que van hacia una trampa, son el hilo conductor del vuelo.
El plan de Trejos es demasiado rígido y por alguna extraña razón no puede alterarse , el desafío de anticipar lo que sucederá a los propios protagonistas, pone en riesgo el plan del veterano Trejos, dando la posibilidad a que Danny Fusco se arrepienta y tome precauciones evitando la trampa de las voces de Trejos, evitando una cacería en Punta del Este.

MANHUNT IN PUNTA DEL ESTE: STORY BRIEFING
The cravings for vengeance take engineer Valentín Trejos (Juan Manuel Tenuta) to cross the Atlantic in his little sailboat in order to interfere with the plans of Danny Fusco (Osvaldo Laport), an international criminal who travels from Madrid to Punta del Este for a drug transaction.
Before leaving, Danny Fusco calls his mistress, the beautiful Christine (Elizabeth Bradley), with his cellular phone from the airport of Barajas, to make sure everything is OK in Punta del Este, city where Trejos is waiting for him.
The woman's voice shows anxiety to see him, to which Danny answers with indifference, hiding the fact that he is at the same moment boarding towards the city, where she and his gangsters are waiting to carry out the crime, as arranged.
The fact is, Christine is in that same moment tied up to the bed with her mouth gagged. Near the bed, Nora, Trejos' dog, is guarding the room's door, in a menacing attitude.
Further away, the main character's voice Valentín Trejos continues the conversation we heard back at Barajas airport, faking the girl's voice.
In the room Trejos uses a notebook to operate a voice faking device, which is in this opportunity imitating Christine's voice, in order to convince Danny Fusco that everything is peaceful and following its course in Punta del Este.
Later on, he will fake the voices of the different members of the gang, creating the feelings of confusion and mistrust among them.
Fusco and three members of the gang board the plane, without suspecting that in the end of the trip, a man is waiting to settle old scores. That man, Trejos, gives them a chance to defend themselves.
At Barajas airport, somebody gives one of the gang members an envelope with a lot of papers that would be picked up in the Uruguayan Airport.
During the flight, Tristán La Motte (Diego Delgrossi), an intellectual, -lieutenant of Danny- who's in charge of the falsifications and computer related works of the gang, begins to notice that these papers are the printing test of a story, that is by accident extraordinarily similar to Danny Fusco and his gang's plans.
The novel Tristán La Motte reads during the flight Barajas - Punta del Este, is no more and no less than the crime they plan to comit.
The effort to explain the meaning of these papers, whose characters have names very similar to their own, and his fight to convince Danny Fusco that they're going into a trap, are the subject of discussion during the flight.
Trejos' plan is too rigid and for some strange reason it cannot be altered, the challenge of anticipating what's to come to the very characters, puts in risk the veteran's plan, giving Danny fusco the chance of repent and to take precautions against Trejos' voices' trap, evading a Hunt in Punta del Este.
